Chapters 71 – Pictures 01 to Chapter 78 – Picture 10
Just a few of the hundreds, and I do mean hundreds of pictures which were taken either by me, or by the incredible team I was a part of during my first ever visit to the US Space and Rocket Center’s Space Camp training facility in October 2005 as a trainee on the 8-day, Advanced, Adult Space Academy Programme.
The picture blocks you can see were edited together from single pictures so that they could be used in the series of photo-journalistic articles I wrote about the experience which were later published on the internet for the entire World to see and hopefully enjoy.
Also featured here are various aerial views of the incredible US Space and Rocket Centre with its Space Camp training facility, and aerial views of Aviation Challenge where some of my training has taken place since 2005.
All the aerial pictures were not taken by me so credit is given here to the people who actually took the pictures
C76 Pic 00A and Pic 00B show aerial views of Aviation Challenge. For reference once again these pictures were not taken by me so credit is given here to the people who actually took the pictures.
C76 Pic 01 shows various views of the interior of Aviation Challenge.
Pic 01A show an in-flight view of an F-18 Hornet fighter similar to the one we were trained to fly (?) whilst at Aviation Challenge.
For reference Pic 01A was not taken by me so credit is given here to the actual picture taker.
C76 Pics 01B to C76 Pic 01L show some of the the materials which were used at Aviation Challenge to train us to fly (?) a US Navy F-18 Honest fighter.
As a group we have never been happy about the training but it does keep getting better and better each year thanks to our input.
C76 Pic 02 shows me in the rear seat of “full-up” cockpit simulator at Aviation Challenge in 2005.
C76 Pic 03 shows various views of the centrifuge simulator at Aviation Challenge during our High-G training experience in 2005.
C76 Pics 03A and 04 show NASA’s T-38 Talon training fighter. Yet another aircraft we had the opportunity to experience at Aviation Challenge.
For reference Pic 03A was not taken by me so credit is given here to the actual picture taker.
C78 Pics 01 to C78 Pic 07A show various views of what is for me the “Jewel” in Space Camp’s Crown – the incredible Underwater Astronaut Trainer or UAT as it is more commonly known.
C78 Pic 08 – Caroline Moore. Read the book (if you have not already) and get to know the story of this incredible lady.
C78 Pics 09 and 10 – Graduation in 2005.
Chapter 78 – Pic 11
One of the proudest moments of my life just seconds after I am presented with the “Right Stuff” award at the very end of the 8-day, Advanced, Adult Space Academy Programme at the US Space and Rocket Centre’s Space Camp training facility in October 2005.
Chapter 79 – Pic 01
My favourite picture of the incredible Underwater Astronaut Trainer, or UAT as it is more commonly referred to, that we had the opportunity to use as trainees on the 8-day, Advanced, Adult Space Academy Programme.
For reference the person in the space suit is me. To know who the other person is you will just have to read the book – if you have not already.
Chapter 80 – Pictures 01 to 05
Just a few of the pictures, by various artists and one photographer, which inspired me to take up CGI artwork as a hobby many years ago.
Credit is given to both the various artists and the photographer here.
